Our systems are mainly web based using the following technologies: Java, Haskell, .Net, Angular, Vue, REST APIs. We use AWS and our architecture is event driven and distributed. We have a service-based approach employing APIs, orchestration and container based deployment. In addition, we have some desktop-based components that employ sophisticated compute-intensive planning algorithms.
Our mission is to revolutionise transport in the UK and beyond. We have an amazing suite of products that are making a huge difference to the performance of the railway and you would be instrumental in helping us delivering that vision.
What we need from you
We’re looking for thought leadership and knowledge of best practice in testing – both automated and manual. Our ideal candidate would have experience/knowledge of:

- A wide range of testing frameworks and tools.
- Test Driven Development (TDD)

You will be an excellent communicator, comfortable guiding and training others. A key responsibility will be to raise the standards of testing across the whole team. You will have a keen interest in modern software engineering practices and a desire to learn about, and contribute to, advances in the industry. You will be responsible for overseeing production of test scripts and validating the approaches taken with different customers. You will know how to get the best out of automated testing ensuring rapid feedback to developers. You will be able to guide developers in how to make their systems and software more testable.
